NEW MUSIC THIS WEEK: Nameless’ ‘Megarider’ 2 Decades on, Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Medicine’ and Chris Brown is ‘Back to Love’
Nameless feat. Khaligraph Jones – Megarider (Remix)
The original ‘Megarider’, a song about a discount bus ticket, from the perspective of a Nairobi campus boy, was produced by Tedd Josiah, recorded and released 20 years ago, as Nameless’ first single after winning a radio talent search.
Harmonize feat. Yemi Alade – Show Me What You Got
This collaboration, the second track off Harmonize’s EP is produced by Krizbeatz and should have you feeling all types of way, considering these are two of the biggest artists on the continent at the moment.
Darassa feat. Jux – Leo
Produced by Abbah Process, the track is a funky fresh beat from Darassa yet again. ‘Leo’ is a club banger that oozes sassy vocals, and the Tanzanian feel and vybe that’s so infectious…
H_Art the Band feat. Nyota Ndogo – Linda Moyo
H_Art the Band have taken it a notch higher if you ask me, with a revamped musical direction that sounds so darn great! In the footsteps of ‘Usiseme No’, and produced by Gituamba, we have this stunning collaboration with Nyota Ndogo (where did she just come back from?).
THE REST OF THE WORLD
Chris Brown – Back to Love
Chris Brown is ‘Back to Love’ with this beautiful new song, shot in Paris (we all know what else allegedly happened there), that reminds us why he’s one of the most prolific and talented RnB artists, even though he effortlessly yet consistently oscillates between genres. Following the success of his album ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’, it’s exciting to note there’s ‘Indigo’ on its way this year.
P!ink feat. Cash Cash – Can We Pretend
P!nk’s music is distinct, and it’s truly impressive how she’s so subtle and yet so aggressive in her social stances. ‘Can we Pretend’ speaks volumes and will leave you asking so many of the right questions…
Jennifer Lopez feat. French Montana – Medicine
Speaking of unique sounds and music videos, JLo is the gift that keeps giving… Her latest product is a stunning beauty to look at, oozing plenty of hot sauce. We may not be sick, but we need some medicine!
Khalid feat. Meghan Thee Stallion & Yo Gotti – Talk (Remix)
I cannot tell you how much I’m feeling Khalid’s music since 2018, and his single ‘Talk’ has just got a remix that’s made it an even better listen.
Avicii feat. Aloe Blacc – SOS
The late Swedish EDM maestro Avicii had troves of unreleased music when he unexpectedly passed away last year, and it was earlier in 2019 announced that we would expect an album out by mid year. Here’s the first taste of what’s in store, a follow up collaboration with ‘Wake Me Up’ star Aloe Blacc, introducing – SOS.
That’s it for this week. See you next Friday! Any new music we should take note of? Tweet @NatesCrest
