29-year-old Tanzanian singer and songwriter Ben Pol has proposed to Keroche Breweries heiress and Nero Company CEO, Anerlisa Muigai. The two have been causing ripples across the internet, from recent rumours of a pregnancy, which Anerlisa has denied, to holidays and trips to European and Middle East capitals.
Ben Pol posted late Thursday, 25th April 2019 on his Instagram account saying, “Well, this just happened. She said Yes”, with Anerlisa Muigai subsequently posting on her account confirming the news with a simple, “I said yes. Hashtag engagement. [Love heart emoji]“. This is believed to have happened as the two were away on a coastal getaway at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa: The accompanying image shows Ben Pol on one knee by what’s believed to be by the shores of the Indian Ocean.
The Tanzanian singer and Kenyan businesswoman have been together for roughly a year. Anerlisa Muigai just turned 31 years old, and Ben Pol is months shy of being 30.
Ben has done well for himself. He grew up listening to his mother’s songs in their house in Vingugunti slums in Tanzania‘s commercial capital, Dar es Salaam. Thereafter he took up an active interest when he was 17 years old, and released his debut album, ‘Maboma’, in 2012. His latest music video is ‘Sio Mbaya’ featuring The Mafik, and his latest musical release is ‘Wakuone’, which was launched 3 months ago.
Anerlisa is the daughter of one of the wealthiest people in Kenya, Tabitha Mungai Karanja, the founder and CEO of Keroche Breweries Limited which as of 2019 controls a 5% market share. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Nero Company that distributes Executive Water.
