Low-cost Carrier Jambojet Launches Group Booking Product ‘Shukrani’
Regional low-cost carrier, Jambojet, has introduced ‘Shukrani’, a new product that allows group bookings of 15 passengers and above, targeting senior citizens, students and chama groups, among other segments.
“We have seen an increased interest in special requests from groups and a need to offer a tailor made product for this customer segment. We are keen to continue coming up with innovative products to address our customers’ needs,” said Allan Kilavuka, Chief Executive Officer, Jambojet.
The product offers a host of features which include – one free seat; with applicable taxes, for every group booked, dedicated check-in desk, meet, greet and assist services, special in-flight mentions and pre-assigned group seating.
To launch the product, Jambojet in partnership with Sarova Whitesands Hotel, flew a group of 16 women aged between 45-68 years from Ngonde PCEA Church in Kiganjo, Nyeri County. It was their first time flying, after they were nominated in an online competition which was carried out by Jambojet between October 15th and 20th October 2019.
“We take this opportunity to sincerely thank Jambojet for giving us the opportunity to fly to Mombasa. It was a golden chance for us because we had never travelled by air before. Some of us had neither been to Mombasa, nor to a hotel the caliber of Whitesands. It was a first of many things including tasting madafu, visit to Fort Jesus and visiting the beach. We felt pampered and this has brought positive energy in our congregation, who were keen to hear about the trip and would like to participate in such events in future.” Said Mrs. Teresa Matu, one of the beneficiaries.
The ladies got to take a tour of the coastal heritage site, Fort Jesus, thereafter, they had lunch with the Jambojet CEO at Sarova Whitesands, then proceeded to the beach for games.
Since inception in 2014, Jambojet, which was awarded the coveted IATA Operational Safety Audit certification (IOSA) in July 2019, has flown over 3million passengers, 30 percent of whom are first time flyers.
The airline flies to five local destinations Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Ukunda and recently launched flights to Kigali, Rwanda, in November, making it their second regional destination after Entebbe, Uganda.
