A framework for a regional strategy for Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation (CTCI) has been approved

The Regional Council of Los Rios has approved the strategic framework of the Regional Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation Strategy (CTCI), which allows regional development by promoting these principles and strengthening regional identity.

The strategy is financed by the Innovation Fund for Competitiveness (FIC) of the Regional Government of Los Rios, managed by the Regional Productive Development Corporation (CRDP) and implemented by the Universidad Austral de Chile. Management Science.

CTCI's strategic framework establishes a road map that articulates the needs, capacities and resources of the various public and private sectors, with the objective of implementing timely actions and evaluating their results in support of sustainable and competitive regional development.

The Strategic Framework of the Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation Strategy (CTCI) of the Los Rios Region is based on six main axes.

The first, “Education Futures at CTCI”, aims to establish a regional education and training center focused on local challenges and needed skills.

Second, the “CTCI Society and Territory” axis seeks to promote social innovation to reduce regional disparities and address the health and well-being needs of regional society.

The third axis, “CTCI Regional Identity”, focuses on strengthening scientific and technical capacities for the management and evaluation of art, culture and heritage, as well as improving the preservation of cultural identities and knowledge of the territory.

On the other hand, the “CTCI for a Part of the Future” axis aims to develop capacities to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change, sustainably manage natural resources and adopt solutions to address anticipated risks and disasters.

The fifth axis, “CTCI for Sustainable Economic Growth”, seeks to enhance, stimulate and inspire capabilities in research, development, innovation and entrepreneurship to design technological solutions that respond to business and market challenges.

Finally, the “CTCI for Public Enterprises” axis focuses on developing, strengthening and demonstrating the capabilities and resources of the territory's public enterprises in the field of science, technology, knowledge and innovation, with the aim of promoting an open enterprise culture.
