A roadmap towards a circular economy in fisheries and aquaculture was approved news

The Ministry of Production (Production) has approved a roadmap towards circular economy for fisheries and aquaculture sub-sectors.

Within 60 business days from tomorrow, the product will approve the roadmap implementation plan. The Directorate General of Fisheries and Aquaculture Environmental Affairs will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the measures.

Exchange of information and experiences on the circular economy in fisheries and aquaculture with companies and/or individuals from the private sector, including the circular economy approach in the training provided by the sector to actors of the process. Fishing and/or aquaculture.

Likewise, business models linked to fishing and/or aquaculture activities will be identified, where the integration of a circular economy approach is possible, and technical assistance will be provided to implement circular business models for fishing and aquaculture.

Actions to prevent and reduce loss and/or abandonment of fishing gear and gear will be encouraged, activities between public and private sectors or joint reuse, discard and/or waste from fishing and/or aquaculture activities to prevent degradation of ecosystems.
