Next week the city of Arequipa will be the center of the scientific world. Representatives of universities, researchers, students and others will participate in the “Peru with Science” exhibition at the Cerro Juli Convention Center.
Artificial Intelligence will also be discussed. Exhibitions of projects using virtual platforms for educational purposes, as well as those aimed at physical rehabilitation using exoskeletons and cancer diagnosis.
Likewise, there will be chess tournaments, entertaining science talks for the general public, free science workshops and science micro-theaters where they can meet Peruvian scientists Pedro Paulet and Santiago Antánez de Maiolo.
It should be noted that this year the exhibition “With Big Science” is dedicated to the figure of the Arequipa scientist Pedro Paulet Mostajo. For this reason, thanks to the initiative of the Catholic University of San Pablo, a scale and animated model of the Autobolit will be exhibited, the design of the first spaceship in the world, designed in 1902 by the famous native of Arequipa.
This mega event is co-organized by Considec, the Regional Government of Arequipa, the Provincial Municipality of Arequipa, the National University of San Agustin, the Catholic University of San Pablo, the Catholic University of Santa Maria, the Continental University and Texab.
In this regard, CONSITEK seeks to promote the development of scientific culture in the country with “big science” and help more children and adolescents to be interested and closely involved in the activities and work carried out by our researchers. Thus, last year in Lima received more than 12,000 participants, and this year in Arequipa is expected to exceed this number.

The Peru with Science Fair is the central event of National Science Week and has been in development since 2013. In 2019, the first decentralized edition was held in Trujillo, and in 2020 and 2021 virtual editions were held due to the pandemic. Covid-19 and the face-to-face format is back in 2022.
