Bogotá has the potential to become the next Silicon Valley

Within the framework of Colombia 4.0, and as part of the general technical discussions and networking of the space, the group “Bogotá and its own Silicon Valley” was held, with the participation of Isabela Muñoz, Managing Director of Bogotá in the West. Natalia Arias, Agostinho Joao Ramalho de Almeida Sebastián Marulanda and Olga Gómez Ramírez.

During the conversation, they highlighted several relevant aspects that Bogotá needs to consolidate itself as the technology hub of the region. They include its strategic location and dynamic and stable supply of human talent. 65% of companies that choose Colombia as a destination establish themselves in Bogotá, and 71% create technology jobs.

During the panel, Natalia Arias from the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce highlighted that Colombia has potential and is projected as an example for Latin America.We dream that Bogotá will become the hub of science, technology and innovation in Latin America.“.

The participants learned about some of the projects to position the city as a technology hub, such as the construction of a science, technology and innovation complex, as a result of collaboration between public policies, universities and the private sector.

Transforming the sector into a public space for learning and working, strengthening economic sectors and construction work is planned to start next year.
