70.8% of children and adolescents use the Internet

Nationwide, 70.8% of the population between the ages of 6 and 17 use the Internet. In terms of gender, this ratio shows 71.6% of females and 70.0% of males reaching that age group.

In terms of geographical area, 78.9% of children and adolescents have Internet access in urban areas and 46.2% in rural areas.

Regarding the use of cell phones, 77.9% of people between the ages of 6 and 17 use electronic devices. In terms of sex, 78.9% of women and 77.0% of men use cell phones.

92.5% of children under 12 have health insurance.

Enaho shows that 92.5% of the population below the age of 12 have health insurance. In terms of gender, it can be seen that the proportion of males having health insurance is 92.5% and females 92.4%.

For adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, 88.9% have health insurance. In terms of gender, 89.1% of male adolescents and 88.7% of female adolescents have access to this service.

A high proportion of children and adolescents have comprehensive health insurance

By type of health insurance, among children under 12 years of age, 71.4% have comprehensive health insurance (SIS) and 18.5% have EsSalud. For adolescents, 67.6% were covered by SIS and 18.9% by EsSalud.

About 98 out of every 100 children under the age of 18 have DNI

Regarding holding a National Identity Document (DNI), 98.2% of the population under the age of 18 have an identity document. Based on place of residence, DNI reaches 98.3% in urban areas and 98.0% in rural areas.
