Evo returns from Venezuela and attacks Ars: We trust an economist, the economy is worse than 2005

After a visit to Venezuela and a meeting with Nicolás Maduro, former President Evo Morales recently returned home and launched harsh criticism against the government of Luis Arce. Morales confirmed that he chose Luis Arce as his presidential candidate based on his ability as an economist to recover the economy, but expressed his regret by pointing out that the current economic situation is worse than in 2005.

Morales said he met for four hours with an expert economist from the administration of Jeanine Anez, appointed by Ars to monitor the economic situation. “He explained to me in detail: the national economy was destroyed. Lucho Ars, instead of improving it, sank it further,” he said.

During his Sunday program, Morales commented that Arce was asked to restore the economy left behind by Anez and punish the coup plotters. However, he criticized that the economy was poor and that the government had become a great protector of the separatists, who, according to him, should be prosecuted for terrorism, including Manfred Reyes Villa, for promoting the independence of Santa Cruz.

Morales also said the government was using “any problem” to cover up the failure of the lithium project. According to him, it collapsed with the five agreements signed by the government of Luis Arce to industrialize lithium.

The report is a response to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, which filed a complaint against former collaborators of Morales for flawed acquisitions of lithium carbonate processing plants in Salar de Uyuni. An economy of more than 400 million Bolivianos.

The former president also addressed the management of international credits and criticized President Arce for requesting credits to create “small bicentennial squares”. “My request to the legislators is that they demand loans for the productive sector and not create vacancies, especially when production and irrigation need funds, as health and education services are government obligations,” he said. In Venezuela, several international organizations warned of what was to come.

At the current rate, Morales warned, “the government will have almost no debt capacity, and that will destroy Bolivia. This is the situation, how do we raise it now? “This is the debate we have,” he said.

Additionally, he revealed that a representative in Venezuela told him that at the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the government imported fuel with a $25 million surcharge on a single import. “The country will not endure this way,” said Morales, who promised to have the necessary documents soon.

“He sought me out to tell me: Evo, I want to tell you that your government is bad, your president is bad. 'Why? 'What happened?' Although not much time, he told me, 'Let me tell you,' why did they stop him from going to Foz de Iguazú, and of course the Lula experts were well aware and encouraged him to continue,” he commented.
