Francisca Aronsson Coming of Age: “I want to be 18 because it will open doors for me, but at the same time I don't want to be that age” | Lalola | Netflix | Women's Day | Lights

He hails from Spain, where he is currently filming a Netflix series. Prior to this, he recorded “Lalola” for VIX+ in Mexico and “Perra vida” in Chile. In the Spanish market he was also part of “El Internado: Los Compresses” (Prime Video) and the third season of the RTVE series “HIT”. Francesca Aronson He's 17 years old and has already spent half his life going from set to recording set. Three months into adulthood (June 12), the artist talks to us about her international career, her casting for a blockbuster Marvel movie, and how she's enjoying the transition from adolescence to adulthood.

I have mixed feelings about the 18 year old thing. I want to fulfill them because it will open doors for me on a professional level. There are many characters and performances that I cannot access due to age issues. Elite Series is one of them. But, at the same time, I don't want to reach that age, because being young means less problems for me (laughs). Once, out of confusion, I used my brother's card on the subway. They noticed, but they didn't fine me because of my age. They didn't notice it. Additionally, child protection is strong. Somehow I feel more protected”, asiente Aronsson Grande.

In 2020, she landed her first major international role for a series on Amazon Prime. Since then, the actress travels to different parts of the world every two or three months, trying new opportunities, getting to know different cultures and thoughts. However, moving away from her loved ones to fulfill her professional goals was not easy, she says.

I appreciate everything that happens to me. I enjoy it, but I have to admit that the family is missed. Many times I have felt lonely. What if I had a romantic partner? not at all. Because of the fast pace of life I lead, it's hard for me to make that kind of connection with someone. It's hard to reach my age where I'm mature enough to understand kisses in my work, travels and scenes. I don't have a boyfriend, but I'm not looking.“, he says.

Francisca is currently filming a Spanish series for Netflix. Regarding this, he declared that it is a big and successful project with many seasons. “I can't say which one because it's confidential. Being a part of this project excites me as I am a fan. I am happy”, he assures.

─In “Perra vida” you played a Chilean teenager. You were the only foreigner in the film. Why do you think they didn't look for an actress from Chile for the role?

I asked myself that question many times. I can't explain why they chose me as a Peruvian who doesn't live in Chile or have an accent. I had to prepare myself. It was a huge challenge. When I went to Mexico last year for “Lalola,” I asked Joshua Mintz, one of the producers of the series, why they chose me. He told me that I am very talented and there is no one like me. Obviously, those comments gave me hope.

─”Lalola” was the first product you recorded in Mexico?

That's how it is. But before this, I got another job offer for VIX+. It was for the “Bad Girl Pranks” series based on the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa. I could not accept as I was recording the series “HIT” and could not accommodate the dates. I have known Vargas Llosa since he was eight months old, as he was excited to attend the series. My parents were present at meetings with him and members of the Spanish government. I have photos. Then, when he was eleven years old, I interviewed him at a book fair. I've seen that at various points in my life, and it's sad that it didn't happen on that occasion.

How was your relationship with Barbara de Regil, the “rude and arrogant” actress in “Lalola”?

(Laughs) I love her. I stayed at her house many times, we slept, we slept together. It's wonderful. She was like a mother to me. He protected me, took care of me and taught me a lot. It was a pleasure working with her. I was very happy and we talked deeply. I adore her.

─“Lalola”, while entertaining you, also makes you reflect because it talks about bigotry and misogyny, issues that plague the world. How do you deal with those issues?

Unfortunately, we've started to normalize those behaviors. We think they are part of life and they are fine. It happened to us when we registered, there was sexual behavior. Because it's normalized, they don't realize it. Later they apologized to the director and the actors. I experienced it from a young age, but because my mother works on sexual and reproductive health issues and has an NGO that helps poor migrant women, I've always been open-minded. My parents always taught me that we are all equal and have the same rights and opportunities.

─When you started acting, did you imagine the dimension of your life?

When I was 8 years old, starting with “Mother's Love”, “There's Room Underneath” or “Margarita”, I never thought this would happen. Every step surprised me and made me fall in love. All of this personal and professional growth would not have happened if I had not started exploring or investing in other businesses without knowing what would happen. It was not easy and I had to knock on many doors. I'm going to tell you something I've never told you before. When I went to Chile to dub some voices for the movie “Margarita”, I took the opportunity to visit some artist representation companies. I am nine years old. That day, I will never forget, the lady who served us was so rude, she never looked at us. He yelled at us. It was very embarrassing.

─Have you ever thought about giving up on your dreams?

When projects were unavailable for a year, I thought a lot about my future. I thought I was a failure. This was during the pandemic. I was in Sweden. I felt out of the world. I have done more than 7 films, many serials but nothing worked at that time. My rep told me I had talent and potential. It was a complicated moment.

─What's the craziest performance you've ever done?

This is one from Marvel. When my representative told me that they had written to him from the Marvel casting director's office, Sara Finn, I was excited. It was the first time he wanted to act in Hollywood. Everything was in English. They didn't tell me the name of the character, I know it's for the second part of a film. After sending my casting, they emailed my agent and told me to book four or six months of the film's shooting time. I had already seen the recording with Benedict Cumberbatch and all the actors in Hong Kong. I was a finalist, but I didn't get the role. It was for the film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (2022). I had applied for the America Chavez character. The cast was all over the world. They said they will keep me in mind for the next opportunity.

─Who is left in the end?

Actress Xochitl Gomez. It has elements of comedy. I met her and she is an amazing actress.

─Is Hollywood one of your main goals?

This is the market I want to reach. I have a company that represents me. It's called DePaz Management, but I don't have permission to work yet. It takes time.

─Which artists do you have as references or with whom you would like to share a scene?

With Natalie Portman, I love her. I swear I'm going to do it. At any age, but I'll do it. I would also love to work with Martin Scorsese. He is one of my favorite producers.

─What's it like growing up in the public eye with over a million followers on social media and dealing with obsessions about your body and artwork?

Actually, it is not easy. Knowing that over a million and a half people have decided to follow me is a huge responsibility. From little girls to 60-year-old women. As a UNICEF ambassador I have to pay close attention to publishing. There are inappropriate, inappropriate and hurtful comments on social media about my body, face, my work. They say I've changed, I've had surgery. One day I was quiet, ate a watermelon in Colombia, and when I was 14 years old, I got news on national television that I had rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, face augmentation, and liposuction. When did I do all that?

Where do you see yourself in five years?

There are ups and downs in this business, but regardless I see myself as very successful.
