Producers participate in the first edition of the Regional Agricultural Technology Fair in Huanuco. This activity is designed to promote the use of agro-technological innovations by the participants of the Procompetition.

This is stated in an interview Inforegion Economic Development Manager Regional Government of HuanucoRonald Acuna.

Technology for the sector

“We have invited all companies that have equipment to bring the agriculture sector closer to the producers. Delegates applying to Procompite come to learn about existing technology. Given these developments, we cannot continue with the traditional methods we have,” declared Aguna.

The official further informed that 22 producer associations have registered to participate in the fair. He explained that these are associations that focus more on the use and renewal of machinery. An interesting confluence is emerging in this event, he said.

“On one hand, businessmen are exposing their technology and on the other, there are farmers who need it,” he highlighted. He recalls many times producers regretted not being able to access the technology because of the cost of the equipment.

That’s what Procombit exists for, he cited, which will fund its acquisition so it can be used in the field. In this way, it is certain that these technological advances can be used to support Huanuco agricultural production. Later, he revealed that the meeting was small compared to similar meetings.

“In August we are going to hold an event with several national companies so that they can come and showcase all the technologies in the field,” he announced.

How is Procompete going?

He mentioned that the first phase of registration of producers is underway. This is part of the documentation process that ends on May 17.

He recalled that a team has been stationed in all provinces to support the registration of applicants. In addition, the development of producers’ business plans will be supported until June 24. “Producers are excited and gearing up to work hard on ProCompetition,” he said.
