In Huaral, A Sicario Francesca Montezuma Sanchez, 41, was shot and killed while pregnant. Next to her was José Marcelino Ñaco, who was also shot. Although both died, the victim's unborn child was saved by an emergency caesarean section, but remains in intensive care due to his premature birth.

The double crime happened on December 28 around 7:00pm in Jorge Chavez Extension, at the woman's doorstep. After the attack, both were transferred to the San Juan Bautista Hospital in Huaral, where doctors certified the victims dead. However, gynecologists and paediatricians performed surgical intervention to save the newborn.and 31 weeks.

Huaral local media reports that the newborn is currently stable but in the ICU with mechanical ventilation due to premature birth.

According to PNP General Manuel Farias, police agents have already identified the culprit who shot the surrogate mother and the Enel worker. He said they were going through the process with the Ministry of Public Affairs to seek preliminary detention.

The motives of the attack are still unknown, as the PNP indicated that none of the victims' belongings were stolen.
