Industrial Services of the Navy (Sima Perú) and shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (South Korea) today signed an agreement for the co-production of four naval units.

“This agreement marks a historic milestone in the development of the naval sector of our country and region. This agreement proves our credibility as a safe country for investments,” said this afternoon the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), José Arista, who participated in the ceremony with President Tina Poluarte.

Economic stability, along with favorable policies for foreign investment, has positioned Peru as an attractive destination, Arista said, adding that the project will reach an investment of approximately US$1,000 million.

“The alliance between CIMA and Hyundai is a step forward in consolidating Peru as an important partner in the maritime sector internationally. It will strengthen Peru's naval industry and open up new development opportunities for our country,” he stressed.
