In New Zealand, a man refused to give an elderly couple upgraded seats on a 12-hour flight. Angels, America. The situation sparked debate on the internet after the young man shared his story on social media. Some were in favor of the commuters, while others criticized his approach to the demands of third-generation citizens.

The passenger, who wished to remain anonymous, explained that he and his girlfriend paid an extra $60 to get more spacious seats. This way, he can stretch his legs because he is almost 2 meters tall and the journey is long.

“No leg room,” complained the young man.

“We booked and paid for our flights and added premium economy seats because I’m 6’2” and wanted the extra legroom. It costs an extra $60,” he explained.

“This flight was on Air New Zealand and when you get to your seat there is your name on the screen. ‘Welcome to Surrothechure’. We boarded the plane,” he continued.

However, upon reaching their seats, the man was surprised to find that they were already occupied by an elderly couple. He asked if their seat numbers were mixed up. They don’t.

“I show them my ticket and seat number, I show my name on the screen. Then they ask me to sit in their seats 10 rows back. There’s no legroom,” he said.

The user explained to the senior citizen that he had paid too much for the seats and had to go to his own place. The steward stood by the passenger side and asked the elderly couple to their seats.
