II National Conference of Youth of Social, Solidarity and People’s Economy was held

With a view to strengthening the cooperative and interdependent youth organization, the Second National Meeting of Social, Solidarity and People’s Economic Youth was held last Tuesday, August 29, at Korini Malar Cooperation Cultural Center.
The work was carried out day in three axes; Environment, types and contrasts and youth work.

In this context, ESSyP sought to contribute to the development of democratic spaces and the creation of a youth agenda; Exchange of experiences in the field. In addition, the proposals were discussed from a multidimensional perspective, where people’s material needs were taken into account along with social cohesion, responsibility for others and the environment.

In the afternoon, the young participants were divided into three work commissions. There they exchanged experiences of their companies, regionally and sector wise with their respective brands. They also examined youth participation in organizations and made proposals.
At the end they shared the results with over 300 participants. Two representatives per group presented the results: Belen Lopez Iglesias – Mutual Estudiantil Tucumán (CAM); Sophia Franco – Southern Patagonia Mutual (FAMUCH); Camila Massa Panella – Zhukov (Fekovida Youth); Tamara Gallardo – Mutual Amazol (FAMUCH); Silvina Schneider – Santa Fe Road Worker Mutual (Brigadier Lopez Mutual) and Sabrina Baeza – MUTRALA Mendoza (FEMUM).

On different topics, they agreed on the need to strengthen the culture of cooperation and reciprocity in education systems to encourage girls and boys to grow with this knowledge in primary school and to return to cooperative organizations in secondary school. And professionals at mutuals and universities can learn about and act on the social economy. In short, creating co-operatives should attract the attention of the youth and break the myth that “you are an employee or an independent professional”.
The lack of vision of the youth in the organizations was also raised and a way must be reached to give them a bigger place in the leadership of the organizations. These youth meetings are held frequently in different areas.
There was a commitment to formalize all the results in one document, to gain more space in ESSyP, to add more value, and to continue working to continue the cooperative and mutual development of the country.
