Industrias San Miguel has appointed a new General Manager for Peru and Chile, replacing Cintya Añaños

Peruvian beverage producer San Miguel Industries (ISM) has made its biggest business transformation in the last decade. Public administration for Peru and Chile now falls into the hands of veteran businessman Walter Tapia Stump.

Tapia thus replaces Cintya Añaños, Ayacucho (by the Añaños – alcazar family) is a descendant of the lineage that created the company 35 years ago. He will be the executive director of the Peru and Chile division and other ISM divisions.

ISM approved Nationally in several categories such as Cielo y Loa (table water), Kola Real y Oro y (soda) or Kero (aloe vera drink). From its base In 1988 ISM was able to capture markets regionally and today has a presence in Chile, Dominican Republic, Brazil and Haiti.

After 10 years in the position, Cynthia Ananos is stepping down as the top president of Industrias San Miguel, taking over Walter Tapia st. The entrepreneur, though an outsider to the founding family, is not unknown in the business world.

Walter Tapia st Accumulates more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of mass consumption. He has held several management positions – both nationally and regionally – at multinational companies such as Avon, Uniq-Yanpal, Quimica Switzerland and Bimbo.

Before joining ISM, he Avon’s general manager for Central America and the Dominican Republic From January 2020 onwards. Previously, he worked CEO of Unique-Yanbal More than five years. Among other positions, he ran various divisions at Lima Cacho, Backus, Nestlé, Unilever and Quimica Switzerland.

The renowned businessman holds a master’s degree in strategic management from Miguel de Cervantes European University and Scientific University of South, Spain. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru, a specialization in Marketing and Sales from the Universidad del Pacífico, and specialized programs for directors at the University of Piura.
