The government announced through , Thursday, July 27, 2023, will be added as a non-working day, including the holidays of Friday and Saturday (July 28 and 29), and Sunday, July 30, as a regular day of rest. These free days will encourage domestic tourism.

  • Holiday: A holiday is a holiday during which workers in the public and private sectors can stop working. The same happens with students who stop attending classes. If an employee works on a holiday, even if it is a Sunday, they are usually paid three times more.
  • Holiday: It was mandated by the government of the day and targeted at the public sector. In the private sector, the employer decides whether their workers work or not. If an employee works casually, it does not mean that they will get additional payment as they will only get the same salary without any increase. For vacationers, they must make up that time with overtime, work on Saturdays, or count it as part of a vacation.
