How is Spain coming along?
The 23-member Spain squad for Sunday’s Women’s World Cup final against England returned to the facilities at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney on Friday, where they are finalizing preparations for commitment.
In today’s training session, for the first fifteen minutes accompanied by Spanish and international journalists, the players mainly practiced strength, endurance, flexibility, recovery and agility exercises.
The coaching staff set up a sort of series of training circuits in which the players participated in exercises such as sit-ups, push-ups, running and working with elastics.
Likewise, the physical trainer has worked with some soccer players on specific exercises tailored to their needs, such as Salma Baralulo, who has intensified leg and knee work.
This puts Spain in the finals in preparation for the World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand, where they will face England next Sunday at the Australia Stadium in Sydney.
It’s a rivalry with a vengeance, as the Spanish and English recently met in the quarter-finals of the EuroCup, on which date the Lions were crowned champions, eliminating La Roja.
Spain reached the final stage of the tournament with five wins and one draw, while England went undefeated.
