The competition of the National Agency for the Promotion of Research, Technological Development and Innovation (R+D+i Agency) is open, which proposes to connect artists, artistic sensibilities and researchers from different fields through new artistic productions.
Currently, artistic production is overcome by new forms and expressions emerging from the intersection between new technologies, devices, knowledge and disciplines that have created a variety of innovative experiences. The aim of the competition is to encourage and promote these innovative expressions from the convergence of disciplines and to encourage creative dialogue between art, science and technology. A place where innovative ideas drive the development of creative concepts for contemporary challenges.
“The agency is committed to expanding conventional boundaries and advancing with alliances like never before in other areas. Taking risks with others to create, listen, dialogue and keep moving forward”, says Fernando Peirano, head of the R+D+i agency, and reflects on the relationship of art with the development of society and the country: “When one wonders how. Is Argentina getting back on its feet? We find the answer very close in its culture, in its art, in its science, in its universities. When one thinks of the intersection between science, art, innovation and technology, encouraging creative, innovative reflection, ​​We want to open the door to actors who are not traditionally recognized”, notes Peirano.
This initiative constitutes a real milestone in the visibility and priority of the arts in the Argentine scientific system, and seeks to evaluate the creative use of practices, tools and/or results of scientific research.
About the competition
Teams of a minimum of two and a maximum of four may register. Residents of Argentina and at least one of the team members must be registered with the Agency’s bank of assessors at the time of completing the registration process and carry out research work in an institution corresponding to the category of the competition. You entered.
The competition categories are divided by region, namely: major cities (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, City of Córdoba and City of Rosario), NOA and NEA (Catamarca, Jujuy, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Tucuman, Chaco, Corrientes, Formosa, Missions), Cuyo and Patagonia (La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis, Suput, La Pampa, Neuquén, Rio Negro, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego and South Atlantic Islands) and Center (Buenos Aires, Entre Rios, Córdoba and Santa Fe).
In the evaluation, creative ideas-projects that demonstrate the intersection and conceptual connection between some of the topics of this competition will be evaluated: art, science, technology and innovation. 12 equal prizes of $700,000 pesos will be awarded.
