Filmmaker Luis García Berlanga, or a journey through the most intimate legacy of feminine power in art and belief. Relations between art and nature in the last century or the dinosaurs of Patagonia.
Such projects, among others, are part of the 2023-2024 season, presented by the ”la Caixa” Foundation under the motto “We grow in culture”: a total of 34 exhibition titles, including ten premieres, will tour the CaixaForum centers. CosmoCaixa Science Museum, in its traveling version, various cities in Spanish and Portuguese territories.
Programming combines its own productions and others in collaboration with major institutions such as the British Museum, Center Pompidou, Cinema Franchise, Egidio Ferruglio Antiquities Museum and Museo Nacional del Prado.

Premieres: From Girl Power to the Biggest Dinosaur
Among the self-made models, Interior Berlanga stands out, a new exhibition that will be premiered at CaixaForum Valencia on February 29 and then move to CaixaForum Barcelona. It proposes an intimate portrait of the filmmaker Luis García Berlanga, and you will discover unknown and fascinating stories about the life and work of Mr. Marshall, the director of Welcome.
And, as a result of international alliances, an exhibition co-produced with the British Museum was born: Revered and Feared. Feminine Power in Art and Beliefs can be seen at CaixaForum Madrid until January, then moves to Barcelona and Seville. A journey through 5,000 years of spiritual beliefs about women and femininity through ancestral and contemporary pieces.
Another one of the premieres Art and nature. A century of biomorphism, covering 100 years of dialogue between art and nature, a fruitful relationship from Surrealism to the present day: from Kandinsky and Paul Klee to Jeremy Teller or Neri Oxman. Together with the Center Pompidou in Paris, it will be on view until January 14 at the CaixaForum Barcelona, and then at the CaixaForum centers in Madrid and Zaragoza.

Another innovation: Dinosaurs of Patagonia, organized in collaboration with the Egidio Ferruglio Antiquities Museum, will arrive at the Cosmocaixa Science Museum on October 25 and at the Caixaforum Madrid in July 2024. Visitors can get up close to a part of the world with the most ancient remains of these animals.
In addition, other self-produced exhibitions dedicated to the vision of the landscape based on music and mathematics or works from the contemporary art collection of the “la Caixa” Foundation stand out among other innovations.
Culture changes us, teaches us to see, and this new season the Foundation proposes: “A space for critical reflection that connects contemporary people with issues of great social impact that affect and care about, constantly coming together. Art and science,” explains Elisa Duran, Deputy General Director of the La Caixa Foundation. Always With a single goal: “Promoting integration and social cohesion through culture.”

Dinosaurs of Patagonia
Patagonia’s ancient treasures are the protagonists of this exhibition, one of the first of the season. A more than 30-meter-long replica of a specimen of one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered, the Patagoton majorum, is the star of the exhibit, which reviews the evolution of these animals in the region.
