Peruvian entertainment chain Cineplanet will close in 2023 while opening two new campuses. The first opened in early September, and the second location, which will become the brand’s largest and most modern in Peru, will be available in the coming weeks. On Friday, September 1, Cineplanet celebrated the opening of its new complex with six 2D theaters in the Plaza Santa Catalina shopping center located in the La Victoria district. With this addition, the chain has reached total 43 companies Nationwide, there are 26 in Lima and 17 in the provinces.

The company’s commercial director, Juan José Dafu, shared with Perú Retail some details about its ambitious expansion plans. “Plaza Santa Catalina is, without a doubt, the most modern cinema in the entire Peruvian territory. In addition to our excellent cinemas, we have incorporated self-service blocks that allow customers to make their purchases with the help of a digital advisor,” he highlighted.
This innovative service appeared during the pandemic and was quickly integrated into its movie theaters, driving the company’s modernization. “Some campuses are still in the process of being implemented, but it shouldn’t take more than a few months to ensure everyone has current CinePlanet technology.”The manager insisted.
Where will the new Cineplanet complex be located?
The Cineplanet chain is gearing up to open its second campus in 2023, positioning it as the most avant-garde in the entire country. Additionally, it will be one of the largest companies in the group. This brand new addition will be found in the San Juan de Luricancho district, specifically, the upcoming Mall Aventura shopping center.

Notably, this will be Cineplanet’s second campus in Peru’s most populous district, San Juan de Luricancho. The first is located in the Alameda Plaza shopping center on Canto Grande Avenue. Meanwhile, Mall Aventura SJL is located on San Juan de Luricancho Avenue, near Pyramid del Sol station.
What new features will your new cinema in Lima offer?
Juan Jose Dafu, CinePlanet’s Commercial Director, He shared with Perú Retail some of the innovations that will be included in the new cinema, highlighting the integration of Xtreme Cinemas. “The Xtreme Room offers four outstanding features: a design that maximizes the number of available seats; a giant screen stretching from floor to ceiling measuring more than 180m2; laser projection and Ultra HD definition; and a Dolby Atmos surround sound system,” he elaborated.
In this way, Cineplanet Xtreme in San Juan de Luricancho will become the group’s fourth complex offering rooms. It joins existing ones in Mall del Sur (San Juan de Miraflores), Royal Plaza (Independencia) and Real Plaza Bruchuco (Ate). “It will be one of the largest theaters in Peru as it is designed to receive a large audience”said the chain’s business chief.
