Through a project called OPEN, the system American English for Educators Offers massive open online courses (MOOCs) that are free of charge and have unlimited slots, allowing you to learn them at your own pace.

English courses at the United States Embassy are aimed at academics, journalists, entrepreneurs, and professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Classes taught by experts in the field include several specific topics such as English for professional development, STEM sciences, journalism, business and entrepreneurship, as well as media literacy.

It is estimated that 476,600 people were actively looking for work from December (2021) to February and many young people have now chosen to look for work abroad.

Focused on professional development, the English course consists of a self-study program of five online modules.

Designed specifically for non-English speakers and those looking to develop their careers internationally, the program covers fundamental topics such as how to search and apply. Job opportunities in USAAdditionally it allows for a comparative analysis of these processes in the students’ home country.

Throughout the MOOC, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their global career development, enrich their English vocabulary and develop essential communication skills in the professional field.

Techniques such as finding job opportunities that match your profile, creating application documents, resumes and cover letters, as well as strategies for improving networking and interviewing techniques will be addressed.
