Misael Ruiz, President of the Association of Suppliers of the Aquaculture Industry of Aysén (AgrupAysén), participated in an important meeting with the Minister of Economy, Nicolas Craw, from the aquaculture sector, along with various trade unions.
In this meeting, Minister Grau emphasized the strategic importance of aquaculture and promised a participatory process for the new sector legislation. According to President Ruiz, “this meeting represents a positive step towards mutual understanding between the government and workers in the aquaculture sector.”
Ruiz emphasized the relevance of dialogue and expressed his commitment to the continuation of a working group. This schedule aims to guarantee that established agreements do not alter working conditions in the aquaculture sector. Ruiz also raised concerns about the implications of Conaf being in charge of developing management plans without the direct participation of the productive sectors (tourism, fishing and aquaculture).
In his remarks, the President said, “We seek continued cooperation with the government to ensure regulations that promote sustainable development. We will maintain a work schedule to provide guarantees that the contracts will not affect the working conditions of the aquaculture sector, and avoid any inconveniences that may arise if management is left in Konaf’s hands.
GroupEisen highlights the importance of changes in industry that create employment and economic development, ensuring reconciliation with environmental objectives.
Within the framework of the meeting, Akrup Eisen presented Minister Kira with a letter expressing the union’s deep concern about the decisions affecting the local economy. The letter highlights the importance of considering the active participation of local actors in decisions affecting the Aisen region. AgrupAysen calls for a constructive and equitable dialogue that benefits all concerned and appreciates the minister’s attention to this important issue.
