The Ministry of Science announced a call with the aim of supporting research projects in the fields of basic and space sciences. The initiative will allocate up to $365 billion in resources to promote the nation's scientific and technological progress.
The main objective of the call launched by the Ministry is to promote projects to address the issues and needs that can be changed through the application of science, technology and innovation in the country.
The call establishes three basic elements What programs should be considered:
- Generating new knowledge in basic and/or space science: Priority is given to researches that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these fields.
- Strengthening Research Infrastructures: Projects that seek to improve and strengthen facilities for scientific research.
- Social appropriation of knowledge: Efforts to promote the dissemination and practical application of research results in society.
In addition, it is necessary to include a decentralization strategy in the proposals, with the aim of strengthening research capacities in areas that are incipient or still in need of integration. The strategy should focus on citizen participation and the democratization of knowledge at local, sectoral and regional levels.
