According to a seismic warning bulletin published by the Moroccan National Institute of Geophysics, A 7-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Moroccan region of Marrakech at 11:11 p.m. local time (00:11 GMT Saturday) at a depth of 8 kilometers.

It had its center in the city IgilIt is located 63 kilometers south-west of the city Marrakesh.

Witnesses contacted by EFE noted that the tremors were felt in northern cities such as Larache, 550 kilometers from the epicenter, and in Casablanca and Rabat, 300 and 370 kilometers respectively.
