Peru will face two friendlies ahead of the 2024 Copa America

The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) announced this Monday that they will face Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in Lima in friendlies scheduled for March 22 and 26.

“Our beautiful love is back, La Baicolor is back. Together with great fans, we will face Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic,” FPF pointed out on the X social network.

Both matches will be played at a stadium in Lima on March 22 and 26 at 8:30 pm local time (01:30 GMT).

The matches will represent Uruguayan Jorge Fossati's first two matches as Peru's coach ahead of next June's Copa America in the United States.

Fossati is tasked with lifting Peru from the basement of the South American qualifiers and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The World Cup will resume in September 2024. That month Peru hosts Colombia and travels to Ecuador.

Peru is in last place in the South American qualifiers with two points from six rounds played.
