Small business owners from Basto are trained in technology

In a commitment to foster economic growth and financial inclusion in Colombia, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a series of initiatives aimed at supporting small business owners in the country.

These strategies seek to provide financial and technical training opportunities to entrepreneurs who have not yet had solid access to these resources.

One of the main objectives of these initiatives is to reach out to the rural communities where the bulk of the country's business sector is concentrated. Historically marginalized in terms of economic development, these regions represent vast potential for sustainable growth and job creation.

Mechanics

USAID recognizes the importance of improving economic dynamics in the rural sector to strengthen the national economy as a whole.

Germany Sanz, USAID's Financial Inclusion and Development Officer, highlighted the importance of working with local financial partners to facilitate financing for small business owners.

“What we want is to work with local financial partners to facilitate access to financing for small entrepreneurs,” Sanz said, outlining the need to strengthen the financial support network for those who want to expand their businesses.

Provide

In addition to access to funding, USAID is committed to providing technical training to participants in these initiatives. Aimed at improving the capacity and competitiveness of local businesses, training modules will be provided to entrepreneurs to teach them how to use digital and technological tools to improve their business processes.

From inventory management to online commerce, this practical insight will allow you to adapt to current markets and capitalize on new growth opportunities.

“This way we help small business owners get access to financial instruments and working capital so they can grow their businesses,” explained Chance.

Activities

This comprehensive vision of business development not only provides the necessary financial resources, but also empowers entrepreneurs to effectively manage their operations and use digital tools.

In addition to training entrepreneurs in the use of technology, USAID proposes to bring digital products and services directly to rural communities.

This initiative seeks to democratize access to technology to ensure that people in remote areas can also benefit from the opportunities offered by the digital world.
