As per the schedule of the Ministry of Education (Minedu), the results of the second round of assessment for high performing schools (COAR) are released this March 8. For the 2024 Single Admission Process (PUA), dates have been set for each phase. The first Phase I concluded on February 28 with the reception and consideration of the first claims. In view of the commencement of the school year, appointment and confirmation of vacancies will be from 11th to 27th March.

For the current year process, 2,535 vacancies have been allotted to COARs. The first phase was carried out in person on February 18 and was decentralized to 79 approved locations across the country. The knowledge test lasted for 2 hours and consisted of Verbal Reasoning and Mathematical Reasoning questions. This test is designed to measure students' analytical skills and logical reasoning.

COAR Admission Schedule

The High Performance Colleges (CORE) admission schedule for 2024 consists of several stages from initial call to placement and confirmation of vacancies. They are as follows:

  • Call: December 21, 2023 to January 7, 2024.
  • Admission Site Registration: January 8 to February 8, 2024.
  • Eligible Candidates List Release: February 12, 2024.
  • Phase I Evaluation: February 18, 2024.
  • Publication of Phase I Evaluation Results: February 27, 2024.
  • Phase II Evaluation: March 2 to 3, 2024.
  • Publication of Final Results: March 8, 2024.
  • Allotment and Confirmation of Vacancies: March 11 to 27, 2024.
  • Transfer of registration: March 11 to April 1, 2024.

Students wishing to apply must have successfully completed the second year of high school at a public school recognized by Minedu and be ready to begin the third year in 2024.

Entry Requirements for COAR 2024

To enter Colleges of High Performance (COAR) in 2024, students must meet certain requirements established by the Ministry of Education (Minedu). These are designed to ensure that applicants have the right profile to benefit from the specialized education offered by these colleges.

  • Academic performance: Students must have successfully completed the second year at a public school recognized by Minedu and be ready to start the third year in 2024. They must have secured one of the top 10 positions in their school (if rural). Or if the school is urban it should be in first fifth place.
  • Participation in academic competitions: Students can apply if they have stood out in academic competitions organized by MINEDU at the local, regional or national level during the first or second year of secondary school.
  • Age and Nationality: Comply with documents required for Peruvian nationality or foreigners. Also, the maximum age to participate in the admission process is 15 years as on 31st March of the admission process year.
  • Authorization: Applicants must have written authorization from their father, mother, legal guardian or representative to participate in the admission process.
  • Proper Registration: Interested parties must register properly on the official Coar admission platform within the deadline established by the admission schedule.
