Dane presented the results of the Cultural and Creative Economy Satellite Account for 2022, according to which, The added value created by activities related to the culture and creative economy contributed $35.8 billion to the national economy last year.

Under this concept, Dane groups three areas: arts and heritage (visual and performing arts, heritage, production of the cultural and creative economy, cultural tourism, etc.); Cultural industries (editorial, phonographic, audiovisual and news agencies); and operational works (digital media and software, design and advertising).

51.7% of the added value of the sector originated in the activities of functional works; 18.6% in cultural industries, 29.8% in arts and heritage.

Last year, the current value added value of these activities was $35.8 trillion, and by 2021 it will be $28.9 trillion, the statistics agency highlights.
