Young actor Ben Wang Chosen as the protagonist of the latest installment of the legendary movie saga “The Karate Kid”. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Wang has joined the cast of the Disney Plus series “Neither From Here nor From China,” in which she co-stars with Oscar winner Michael Yeo.

According to the aforementioned media outlet, Wang stood out – among hundreds of applicants for the position – on several factors, including his command of Mandarin Chinese, his skill at martial arts and his “special connection to the character” of the film. Story in hand.

The latest installment of “The Karate Kid” will tell the story of an Asian teenager from the West Coast who “finds direction and strength through martial arts thanks to a tough and wise mentor.”

In particular, Macchio and Chan will be in the next part of the story, which will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle and whose release date is scheduled for December 13, 2024 in the United States.

Macchio capitalized on the furore created by moving his “Cobra Kai” series — inspired by his “Karate Kid” character — from his YouTube channel to Netflix to make various streaming deliveries.
